Trapbuild with lightning trap

Hi all there :)

Im looking for/creating a Trap build with Lightning Trap.
Unfortunatly i didnt find anything up to date for 1.2 to gather some infos.

Somehow i rly like Lightning Trap as a skill... so i choosed to play a build around it.

My first thoughts are to play a crit trapper:
But Lightning Trap only got 4% Base CC :/ Still worth it?
Had something in Mind like:
Lightning Trap - Multitrap - Chain - Increased CC - xx - xx

and for Single Target maybe:
Trap - Spark - Gmp - Lmp

Can i play maps with lightning trap later on?
Does anyone have some links or infos bout this skill?

With that low base crit I wouldn't try it.

Lightning trap generally isn't a top tier skill, it can do some borderline decent group damage with chain and the cooldown is low but it royally sucks versus single targets. Not many builds that use it.

You would want some other supports on spark, 9 projectiles at 35% damage do almost the same total damage as three projectiles at 100%. As a rule of thumb, don't use multiprojectile supports on skills that already do multiple projectiles. Still, I don't think you can make spark into and effective bosskiller, that's a spam spell and not well suited for traps.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

sunblast belt + reduced duration support gem = trap explode after throw
is good disco, nn monsters to trigger trap
nn aim on monster to trigger trap

allow things like
desecrate multi traps , devouwer totem
lightning warp multi traps, telestump

sadly, spark is a duration spell, that you NOT want to reduce, with a support gem
you want to increase it with increased duration passives, not allow sunblast belt benefits


e/ I did a spark build!
90% skill effect duration passives
over 100% projectile speed (wand/amu)
gmp-fork
and 40%pierce passive
stacked cast speed and spell echo

considering to make a new one, a more fun one
quilrain bow 100%projectiel speed, corrupted lvl1fork support gem, as my 7-link
gloves ele weakniss on hit (8-link) for offscreen curse
allow: spark-gmp-echo-duration-projectile speed-cast rate (fork from bow)
not sure how 40%-100%pierce will interact with fork (solo target 1 sec pierce ''cooldown'' after bounce)
= build that does over 2000hits per 1 sec, to targets upto 16.66screens away!

Yeah so lightning trap should be fine for trash clearing... but if i shouldnt take crit for it what else?
It has a 90% dmg eff.. still try to use increase dmg sup gems?

okay so spark aint good for single..
what would u suggest to play with lightning trap for single target?

but the dmg will still be low if i dont scale it?
i cant scale lightning trap and bear trap togehter since one is phys and the other ele/lightning?

Slapping Remote Mine onto Bear Trap doesn't work anyways.

There are plenty generic Trap Damage passives that will scale both Bear and Lightning Trap, plus Bear Trap just deals very high Damage regardless.

you mean the double passive bonus on mine-traps is patched?
or do you mean that aiming a remote mine to trigger a beartrap is not working very good in practice?

I not realy was telling him to use bear trap remote mine, as a functional solution to kill solo targets

I was forcing him to think self, and pointing him out some mechanics that could help! like trap-mines, and sunblast-reduced duration insta-traps.
Seems he is not interested in thease mechanics, but more in the increased mechanics, so I gess there is no use for me posting here!
