Nearly unkillable rare monster
" i don't consider it a waste of time to roll a character up to level 50 and then find out they can't complete the game. i actually enjoy playing the game and find that progression is the most fun part. why are you so fixated on being able to beat this game? why can't you just play it? I've faced worse in CB :) Try tackling three rare mobs, one of which spawned hentai tentacle rape monsters, and each with their own auras: allies move and attack faster, allies regenerate life, and allies have additional ES :P should the game spawn such encounters? Hells yes! It took a good 15 minutes to kill them, and the exp/loot did not compensate for the time, but god damn was it rewarding when those bastards finally dropped and I DD'd their corpses out of spite!
Edit: Fixed the mods, getting encounters mixed up. Devolving Wilds Land “T, Sacrifice Devolving Wilds: Search your library for a basic land card and reveal it. Then shuffle your library.” Last edited by CanHasPants#3515 on Feb 6, 2013, 2:39:15 PM

" finding ways to separate them seems good idea. If you have armor attack faster is only dangerous for already hard hitting monsters. Oh you can add that red damage aura to the mix it is much more fun. BTW on subject of grapplers, met him in sewers, while grinding, took time to lure him from hoard of undying, but what is fun he generates charges on hit with discharge :D. Well one charge on discharge is just slight challange. Last edited by B_TAHKE#5476 on Feb 6, 2013, 3:00:07 PM

I found a similar mob. http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/3160/mgoj8987_jpg.htm
As a witch it wasn´t very funny. So I decided to skip it, which wasn´t so easy as it stood in a narrow way. |

My only complaint is that those monsters have so many mods that it's hard to read the mod list to see what they have before engaging, as they have flicker strike. While I appreciate being able to see a monsters abilities (flicker, empowered, discharge) It would be really nice if the special mods on the rares weren't buried in the middle of the mod list, or even if the abilities list could be disabled. I don't need to see it more than once to learn which mobs do what.

The best way normally is a decoy totem or even a normal totem. This makes it easier to skip them, or at least to read the mods.
Some Rare-Sets are just not beatable even if they propose no thread. A giant bear with degeneration-aura + HP-Reg + HP-Reg Aura... doesn't work, except you have incredible high dps for a certain region, which normally happens if you happen to just found a new weapon. But... well it is not the goal of the game to defeat every single enemy. I skipped a lot of them, exspecially Flicker-Strike mobs, and in my case Cold-Resistance + Life-Reg, or some of the very fast moving mobs. Some of them are just not rewarding enough to kill for the danger they provide, some just refuse to die, and some are just not possible to kill at the time I encounter them. Exspecially while leveling it often happens that you are a bit behind in terms of equip etc., which makes some of the rares quite nasty. At least in CB almost all enemies were doable in the endgame except reduced physical damage taken, elemental reflect + HP-Reg for some Witch-Builds. Exspecially HP-Reg + Elemental/Physical Reflect can be rather tough. A good workaround normally is Viper-Strike and Poison-Arrow, to damage them without getting a reflect (by just using a lowdps weapon). But it is normally easier to skip them.
