Convince me to buy an SSD just for poe.

I installed SSDs last weekend. I picked up the Samsung EVO 840 drives, which are well rated. I put the OS on its own SSD (120GB), and then striped 2 SSDs (500GB ea) for my gaming drive.
The OS loads up extremely fast, and many games load up much faster as well. For example, Rome 2 Total War loads in ~10 second now, down from what was close to a full minute (or more). Dota2 is up in ~7 seconds, down from 20-30. PoE loads in ~15 seconds, down from ~45, and now has zero delay when opening Strongboxes (even with Rogue Exiles) or when I run into that summoner bitch. Changing zones has next to no load time from what I can tell. If you are wanting to get it specifically for PoE, then I would say hold off until later this year, as prices are always dropping. If you are ready to upgrade your system with SSDs, then I would say look further into it and see if it fits your budget. |

I play in a RAM drive, SSDs are way less hassle to set up though (unless you're in linux). You get instant load times into new instances. It's cool appearing at the same time as an instance creator, or before your party members who went in the portal before you. It's little things like that which makes it feel zippy.
The graphics stuttering from strongboxes or intense 6 person parties are all video card (shader) bottlenecks, and really have no benefit from quick loading of assets, but with a SSD you can rest easy knowing that it isn't because your storage is too slow.
