Why do you get elemental damage nodes if you are using physical damage attacks (split arrow, rain of arrows)?

Ok, I guess I just don't see why you would divert your skills like that. It seems like you would want to either maximize elemental or physical instead of doing both and being less effective in both. I really like the overall idea of the build though.

" You didnt watch the video, otherwise you would know why. Going only for elemental/physical will never yield a better result than going for both with the setup i am using. Wrath and anger add substantial amounts of elemental damage for free and is scaled up enormously by elemental damage nodes (due to the more elemental damage support gem). Hatred adds elemental damage based on your physical damage, thus your physical damage is scaled up twice, once by singlepoint wonders like iron grip, and then again by your elemental damage nodes. Blackgleam converts some of my physical damage into elemental damage, thus making my physical damage scale up twice again. If you have a very high physical damage bow, and you are using hatred and blackgleam, then more than half your damage will be elemental already. Since hatred and blackgleam convert a % of your physical damage into elemental damage, regardless of which bow you are using, you will always deal more elemental damage than physical damage. In addition to that, you have free elemental damage through anger and wrath and elemental damage rolls on jewelry and gloves. About 60-70% of your damage will be elemental if you are using these items/gems. Focusing only on physical will never result in more damage dealt, because there are no auras that add fixed amounts of physical damage. Focusing only on elemental wont result in more damage either, because blackgleam and hatred use your physical damage as a base, thus enabling about 50-60% of your physical damage to be treated as both physical and elemental damage. Skilling a mixture of both will result in more damage output. Since rain of arrows adds quite a substantial amount of physical damage % on higher levels, and iron grip grants a lot of % physical damage increase for a single point, you are able to solely focus on elemental damage nodes on the tree, resulting in maximum synergy. Hi there, I am currently working on this build for HC, as it is fun to play :)
My question is about mana, I always run out! I may of missed it (sorry if so) but what do you do to combat mana issues? just a lot of pots? Thank you :) |

" Just skill a few mana nodes until you are at a higher level. Once you can shoot 4-5 rain of arrows without running out, you will have enough mana. Mana pots solve the regeneration. Bear in mind that you need some minimum gear on melees in order to be able to clear high level content on your own in hardcore. Until you have that gear, group up. Hey gh0un, i want to start a marauder with this build, i saw your videos and the playstyle is really nice...
so i have some questions about it. so first questions is, how important is evasion? Will it be viable if i use Iron Reflexes Passivenode? Under the Marauder Beginning(Passive Skill Tree) there is an Node called Blood Drinker, is the effect of this 2% Lifeleech a good additional Leech to the Leech from the Flask/s? Is it advisable to skill in this Point? Maybe it is enough Leech, to use an additional Granite Flask? Is it a good idea to increase the Amount of Mana, to use at Endgame additional Auras? Or is it better to skill these Points in Damage/Life nodes? so my last question is, if i can get some Increased Crit Chance Nodes with the last 15 Points? Multiplier is easy to get, but i cant find Crit Chance, maybe vou know... so anyways, thanks for this nice Build. Out of curiosity you still using frenzy? Or if you found an elemental hit would you use that instead? Im thinking about elemental hit-->additional accuracy --> faster attacks --> and either chain (ive got a 16quality i may use if i dont sell) or elemental wep dmg. Faster IAS and dmg is nice, especially since i dont have a good quality rain of arrows and i have a 1.2 speed bow..just seems like with all the elemental weapon talents may edge it out... i just havent pulled the trigger on an elemental hit yet
