Curse on hit mechanics question, for 1.2

What kinds of skill gems will trigger curse on hit?

Also, when using Ancestral Bond, your character does no damage with spells or attacks directly cast at mobs. Will curse on hit still trigger when using, say, firestorm, as an ancestral bond character?

Update: I tried lightning trap and fire trap with curse on hit and it never worked. But, every spell I've tried with it works just fine (firestorm, fireball, spark, storm call, arc, ...). My guess is that curse on hit just doesn't work with traps.

I think curse on hit doesn't work with minions, either, as my skeletons never triggered it, even with lots and lots of chances to do that.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Currently, Curse on Hit only works with skills used by you. So traps, mines, minions and totems wont do.

You only need to land a hit though, damage isn't necessary, so even with Ancestral Bond, Curse on Hit will work with everything you can use that directly causes a hit, for example Firestorm.

Any direct hit can trigger it, be it spell or attack, obviously not damage over time or indirect hits from totems or traps.

It will still trigger with AB, you have to hit, not deal damage.

Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

It does technically work with Traps, Mines, Minions and Totems. However, it's linked to the Skill that creates a Trap/Mine/Totem/Minion, not the Skill that said entity uses. You don't hit any enemies with the creation, so it's a bit pointless :P
