Eternal Orb question

I know that if you use a Vaal Orb on an item it is supposed to be final, and nothing else can be done to the item, but I was curious if this applies to Eternal Orbs as well??
If you use an Eternal on the item to make a cast of it, and then corrupt it, can you go back and reset it with the cast, and try again for a different corruption??
I know this is somewhat difficult to test, so I was hoping that someone from Grind Gear could tell me!!

You can't use any currency on corrupted items, that includes Eternal Orbs (in this case the imprint) and even Mirrors.
