What you describe is not an officially supported setting, you cannot configure that resolution in game.

El motor de corriente utilizado por "PathofExile" probablemente no sería capaz de soportar resoluciones de 4k. Creo que hay maneras que usted puede upscale a 4K utilizando herramientas de 3rd parte, pero no he probado ninguno.

Whether the game accepts the settings or not, what benefit could there be to running a game at a resolution higher then the display can accept, surely that would make things look worse because one and a bit pixels would be getting downgraded to one pixel on the display.


You're manually implementing a form of SSAA (what the article calls "grid"). SSAA is among the most effective forms available, unfortunately it's also among the most computationally expensive. Due to the simplicity of implementation it was commonly used before the various more advanced methods were developed. I don't know what the low/medium/high settings in POE correspond to; but with it being a home brew engine I could easily see manually forced SSAA providing a decent boost in quality if you're able to push the pixels.

Pretty sure POE uses either the god awful FXAA or infinitely superior SMAA antialiasing mode. When changing antialiasing in the game the games rendering engine doesn't reset to apply it which is why I'm pretty confident it doesn't use MSAA or SSAA.

I can understand rescaling 1080p resolution up to 2k. But anything more make fonts unreadable pixelated shit. And PoE UI don't scale with resolution and it's always too big (personal opinion).
pocas compus aguanta games a 4k de resolucion. ademas, esta resolucion aun no esta normalizada.

on topic: i see no reason behind the intention to try to feed the graphics driver with a resolution it can't forward to the display.

the best solution always is to let the graphics card generate the exact amount of pixels the display is designed for (the native resolution of the display). that way nothing needs to be converted and scaled which often messes up the image.

Oooooh. OP want's down sampling.

The Dark souls fix implemented this, and running it at 4k downsampled to 1080p is amazing.

I dont know much about video, but I feel that is like saying, yo when you convert this lossless .Wav into a lossy MP3 it sounds sooooo amazing.

Is this thread about downsampling/supersampling? I never tried this in PoE, but in other games it makes the visuals look much smoother. For supersampling to work, PoE must support MSAA. If it doesn't, you can still use downsampling, that works with pretty much every game.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
