Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Can i transfer folder with game to another pc? - Forum

Hello, i just bought new pc and i will have it tommorow. My question is, i have to download the game again or i can transfer folder with game to pendrive and than to the new pc? Hi ! Just copy the Path of Exile folder... " I tried running the PoE installer, and it won't let me install directly onto my 16 GB flash drive. All you really need to do is install the game, and move the Path of Exile folder to your flash drive. You'll have to run the installer on every PC you use the game on, but you won't need to patch it, and the installer itself is very small and doesn't add much to the PC. Once the installer has run, you can play the game off your flash drive. Note that your settings and login details are saved in a file in your My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile folder. You probably want to remove that after playing on a public PC! The password is hashed, but someone else could install the game and log on to your account. I'm about to reformat my computer. So if I got this right, I can just re-install the game, copy the saved version of that content.ggpk file and that will restore all my characters, their levels, and all the gear I have equipped and in the stash? You don't even need to run the installer. As long as you have all of the game files (from the installation folder) you will be able to run the game -- if you don't wish to use the Steam version then simply use the standard build (PathOfExile.exe) All your character data is stored server-side thus you need not concern yourself with that. If your character data is stored server side (I kind of wondered about that since you have to login to play), what's the point of the ggpk file?
