Character's voiceover is not hearable
I can't hear most of the dialogue lines, such as topics with NPCs in town, my own character's lines, but for some reason I can hear Piety.

Turn down the music and sfx slider? that should work, or turn up the dialogue slider if it has room to move.

On a related note, will dialogue that is tied to animations get fixed? Those are really barely hearable.
Disregard witches, aquire currency.

yes, the problem is that the voice-over stuff that is tied to animations counts as SFX. So the SFX slider controls the volume of this.
Hopefully This will change. The audio guy.

It's not about sliders, I've already tried turning sliders on/off, it doesn't help. I also tried to redownload client, because I thought it was broken, but still nothing.
Funny thing, I can't even hear "Marauder intro" on this page http://www.pathofexile.com/audio, though 3 other samples are playing just fine. Do your voice actors speak in ultrasound frequencies, so only people with special abilities can hear them? Haha. :) But, seriously, I would really like to fix this problem, because voice-acting, as far as I heard, is great. |

A hunch based on experience with other games: If you are playing with headphones or a 2 speaker setup and your computer thinks you have 5.1 or similar surround sound, it'll play sounds that are 'right in front' or directionless on a speaker you don't have, and not at all on other speakers. Since Piety is placed in the world, she'll be audible, but the directionless voiceovers won't be. Maybe check your system sound settings and see if this is the case?

I think the best solution is to print the dialog in the chat window like it does when you encounter General Gravicus. Have death wishes from enemies you've dealt a killing blow to printed in the chat log as well as introduction dialog when entering certain areas and level up dialog etc.
You'll: 1) Improve the game for the hard of hearing. 2) Make it easier to understand what was said and give players the ability to quickly verify what was said if the player wasn't paying attention. " Aye, I missed some of the Templar's voiceovers from leveling up, and I'd liked to have been able to catch what he said. Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08
