File Corruption
|
No one else seem to be having this issue, but so far I've had to delete the Content.ggpk file 3 times. First time was an audio file error that Pack Check didn't resolve, but the last two times I've gotten a message that the corruption was something Pack Check couldn't repair.
I'm really not sure what to do at this point, I really enjoy the game, but can't progress into the latter half of Act 3 due to crashing and corruption. Any help would be wonderful. |

It's likely your ISP has stored a cached version of the file and is giving you that instead of the correct, up-to-date one. Downloading the game on a different Internet connection, or copying Content.ggpk from a friend who has a working copy of the game would be the only way to get around that that without going through your ISP. If this is the case, please email Chris (chris@grinding-gear.com) with the details of your ISP and that you're getting this problem, so he can see which ISPs are still doing this.
Hope that helps | |

It isn't an issue with the download, once I download the file I can log in and join games or play solo. It's after about an hour of play that I end up crashing, either in specific areas, or to the point where the game won't launch.
I downloaded the entire ggpk file again tonight and was able to play for around an hour with no issues, I'm hopeful I won't have any more problems. Last edited by Ketheptis#1606 on Feb 3, 2013, 2:24:01 AM

" Doesn't that only work on systems where those restore points are active? It's a good solution for people that it works for, but for everyone else that doesn't have that enabled (or are running on Windows XP, Linux, MacOSX) I usually keep a couple of manual backups of the Content.ggpk file on my system so I can restore those if needed. When a new patch comes out, I delete the oldest backup, and make a copy of the new one so that I always have a couple of versions to prevent having to download the whole thing again. |
