Does corrupted culling strike work on spells?

I have a redbeak with culling strike as a corrupted mod. Does that apply to my spells or just hits from the weapon? I've tried it with EK, and it does not seem to work.

If you got mods like chance to flee, blind or culling strike on your weapons they are local and apply only to hits made using the weapon.

If they aren't on a weapon they work for any hit you make.

It seems to work fine for me...

Just tested it, it does seem to work for self casted spells, but not triggered spells (from trigger gems)

Yup, just tested it with a level one ice nova totem in merc docks, which had a whopping 17 dps lol. But it culled after I whittled them down below 10% with another skill.

I mean heartbreaker is even a caster dagger after all.

I could swear I read before those were tested along with moonsorrow wand and neither didn't work except with attacks made with the weapon. I've never dropped any of those so couldn't test myself. It was a pretty long time ago but I have the impression devs confirmed it in that topic too, might be my memory just playing tricks on me, heh.

Heartbreaker is different from limbsplit and kaom's primacy, it specifically states 'your spells have culling strike', it doesn't work with attacks.
