Quill rain / Exploding arrow

the main skills to be used is EA/fire trap, im thinking about a fire totem too but im not sure right now.

LMP/GMP affects projectile so that means only the initial hit of the bow dmg is affected? not the blasts themselves.

im really interested in this build as well, not sure if anyone has ever successfully built one around it and lvl it high
Its awesome but lacks some single target dmg so u need to use bear trap/fire trap

My most concerns are reflect elemental damage mobs.

I play LA Templar and its easier to spoot ele reflect cuz when my hp drops a bit or even in half i stop shoting and use bear trap/frenzy to kill rare.

With EA when u shoot bunch arrows and they stuck to ele reflect mobs its pretty much gg for you.

That's why you use a Ruby flask and get Elemental Adaptation and/or Purity with Inner Force. As for single target damage, it's anything but bad, with high chance to ignite(support+quality EA+flammability) you will ignite bosses and an ignite on a 5 charges EA burns a boss down in seconds. In Merciless act2 bosses would generally take only 2 5x charges, which sounds like a lot but that's with Quill Rain so that only really takes less than 10secs total, which isn't like super fast, but it's certainly not slow. Bear Trap isn't worth casting at this speed vs just stacking a couple more explosive arrows.
I'm 77 right now running something similar on a marauder. If I were you, I would drop a couple of the 6% fire nodes, grab the 30% burning duration at the bottom left. You are also close to divine toughness (up near the top left) and 2 12% life nodes under the marauder tree.

I'm using blood magic, so not really sure how your mana situation will look. I prefer bear traps (with fire damage support gems) over fire traps to burst down tough mobs and hold them in place. You won't need extra aoe damage I promise. I use a flame totem with lmp/chance for monster to flee and it's extremely good against quick/hard hitting melee mobs. I'd recommend picking one up. If you are soloing, some parts of act 3 merc will be difficult without it.

If you can get a 5l for your arrow, I would run EA/LMP(gmp makes it cost too much for little benefit)/increased aoe/concentrated effect/fire pen or item rarity. Fire pen helps a great deal (even with flammability, there will be highly resistant champions) but also ups the cost quite a bit. I had to drop gems off my EA because it was costing >150 health per shot.

Is what I went for allthough it's pretty heavy on points so need to cut it down and there is also plenty of space to go further if u want.

Looks like there are a few options. u can go dual totem ontop of explosive arrow. get quill rain or get a bow with extra bow level gems . However for your build the knockback seem like it would work well with flame totem and lmp + projectile speed (especialy since u got that on quill rain aswell).
Personally I wanted to play hc and also prob took too many dex talents but feel like u need it for leveling explosive arrow unleas you want it from gear

Edit not quite sure how it would work out in endgame with crit vs accuracy raiting etc so thats why I'm not really sure on a build.

I had one in closed beta on hardcore. Was fun for a while, but then the massive fast attacking and constant work got a bit old. Then I died to ele reflect. Loaded up a good 50 mobs with full charges right as the rare walked into the pack, instant gfg. Every single mob died, but of course so did I.

Too bad you don't just become incapacitated and unable to fight back for a few minutes, in case you actually did win teh fight but died yourself you could slowly recuperate if nothing attacked you. Oh well, it was fun at least.

I used blood magic and massive hp and hp regen. And it still drained my health fast. Those fast attacks at a high mana cost especially with added supports. So that will be your biggest kicker there. But it looks like with your set up and clarity you should be good. It was harder in early levels for me to deal with the cost.
