Who is lorrata?

Somehow after playing act II twice, and listening to every npc conversation, I don't even know who Lorrata is.

That is the first part of a questrelated dialog with Helena ("the oriathan girl" how Ormus... err... I mean Greust calls her) after retrieving Maligaros spike.

Lorrata is a giant tree. You poison its roots to get access to a hidden entrance to the Vaal Ruins.

I thought it was a story npc that I killed and had amnesia about.

That makes more sense :D
