What happens to HC stash?

I've not been one for the hardcore ladder but as of late I've become interested in attempting it and try not to die. I have a few queries that I hope some of you could clear up. Once a HC Character has died what happens to the items in the HC stash? Upon creating a second HC character, do both characters share the same stash?

Each league has it's own separate shared stash which can be accessed by all characters in that league. So yes, both chars share the same stash.

When a HC character has died, all items in his inventory as well as the char itself are moved to default, leaving the stash untouched.
