Hard maps should add an exp % increase modifier so people actually run them

Like a -max res, ele weakness, monsters do added lightning damage, 5 projectiles, half regen map etc

The last time I asked for that, this is what Carl said no. I wouldn't count on this happening any time soon.

Any reason he thought it was a bad idea? To me it's one of the best ideas to curb bad luck in difficult maps. Run a 180% quantity map but get no maps? No problem if I'm getting a lot more XP.

Edit:

ehh.. actually thought of it more and I figured out why it's a bad idea. It would create a meta with everyone trying to go for the max possible amount of quantity on each map.

This does seem reasonable when you first think about it until you realize it would limit build diversity further and ultimately hurt mapping incentives. Many people simply enjoy not running very difficult maps but in this scenario running anything other then high quantity maps is a complete waste of time. Especially for people who speedrun low maps just for gem xp/items/fun.

I was trying to think of a reasonable argument against diversity limitation but I have to say you are probably right. Its frustrating enough trying to put together a gear-dependent uber build without making them mandatory for the xp grind, especially in 4 month leagues.

That said, here's hoping act IV comes with a bunch of higher level maps.

Thanks for forwarding this. One thing to note, some combinations behaving differently than their rewards is something that allows players to let their expertise shine.

While I understand the issue you are highlighting (and we likely need to work on affixes and their rewards), the fact that a map can apwn with a reward different to the difficulty of the combined affixes allows players to feel smart about which maps they run, and which they choose to sell or reroll.

We will look at the individual rewards of affixes to ensure that the rewards vs danger are roughly fair.

When I made this post and asked him to check it out.

It felt fucking stupid that Baker and I were doing some of the deadliest maps in the game at that time (-res x2 boss crema, etc) while Willy was casually strolling through his pool of really easy maps with just maze/pack/magic and getting more maps, more EXP and just about the same loot as us.

And considering that I think I'm qualified enough to say that I know maps inside out, to dismiss my feedback is..well its not very smart. I guess I'm not in Alpha or famous enough to be taken seriously.

Im running level 70 maps with up to 120% Quantity (vaaled) and the craziest affixes, like elemental reflect, no regen, -max resist, increased monster damage (in the same map!) and all i find is a level 66 map... and most of the time not even that!!
Did 3 level 70 maps with 110, 87, and ~90 quantity full cleared --> no map drops.

And i try to do that all the time, basically i alch every level 70 map and play it no matter what affixes roll if quantity is high (summoner can do them all).

But after doing that for about 2 weeks, I can say this shit is totally fucked.

For me it seems like quantity has no affect on map drops AT ALL, it only increases the amount of white items i find...

But going for blue level 70 maps with pack size or magic monsters always yield some results (like 2 maps in average).

So the current map quantity system is complete BS in my opinion.
Taking risk only yields more frustration, taking no risks yields best results.

Nice balance.
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
