Why is the genre called ARPG?
Really there is not much role play. In fact, I think you only have to make one choice in the whole game, and that is inconsequential to the story.

Role playing is role playing. You play a role. You play your character. In an action game.
Action. Role. Playing. Game. |

So is call of duty an ARPG as well then?

I would say 99% of my 'role playing' in computer games goes on in my head. Even in 'traditional' computer-based RPGs, the games are little more than an interactive storybook where decisions are highly restricted compared to what one might *want* to do, and the events are already pre-planned depending on a limited number of decisions. For a 'true' RPG experience, it's best to stick to tabletop/pen-and-paper games where there is a lot more freedom (and the ability to argue the validity of a choice with the person running the game, rather than having to pick from a limited set of options.)
And I do like RPGs, don't get me wrong- they are pretty much all I play. It's just that all of them are limited by the medium they are constructed through. I'm not a n00b- I'm a Online Game Floor Examination Expert.

" ....i mean dude you said that you were going to stop playing this game "take a break" if you will, and your now playing BF3... You claimed that the game was to repedative and it was the same content over and over (if i read your post right). What makes an FPS any different? online multiplayer is litterally the same 10 minutes repeated till death do us part. "Beta"
