Tidal island within 60s ?!
Just wanted to try out the 1-hour race, but logged out 2min after it began:
How can someone "be the first to enter Tidal Island" within 1 min (+/-5 sec) after the server told me the race starts? You need nearly a minute to run there ... but don't you have to kill Hillock first before you even can leave Twilight Strand? How can someone(else) reach level 2 when I just have 1/2 the points needed for the next level? I mean - there is no equip, no build at the start of game ... There must be something about this game that I still do not get ... !?! |

Racing is a science. And you do not need to kill hillock to leave...some people will just run to tidal to get the points. A risk, as youve wasted time if someone beats you.
One thing about PoE maps is that after a while you get a 6th sense of which direction to go for the exits and other such landmarks. There are many gimmicks to racing, but still enjoyable without employing them. Theres many youtube and twitch videos that can shed light on some of the insane stuff people do in order to shave time and make sure each attack maximizes targets hit, etc. |

How do you leave Twilight Strand without killing Hillock?

" You can't. At least not in the leagues. |

I think he meant you dont need to kill Hailrake. Yes, you do need to kill Hillock. I've been the first to enter Tidal Island. Just entered it to see my name called out once in a race. I didn't kill anything between town and Tidal Island. Just ran through. I also didn't kill anything in Twilight Strand before Hillock. Don't put on a chest or shield and you don't suffer a movement penalty. If you are lucky you can buy 10% movement speed boots from the vendor in town.

" No, the way he phrased it, it can only mean Hillock. |
