If Doomfletch can be made into an endgame item, it's for exactly the same reason Facebreakers can: both uniques offer a significant damage multiplier. This means, no, Elemental Hit isn't some kind of awesome combo with this thing. Abyssus and Meningord's Girdle, however, might be.
