Vaal orbs on gems

Got a couple of 20/20 gems i'd like to attempt to enhance with vaal orbs.
For example 20/20 raise zombie? What's the worst thing that can happen if i use a vaal orb on it? Aura gems like discipline? |

You can get the Vaal version, which may or may not be desirable.
You can lose some Quality on it, and have no way to get it back. De-leveling and no change are harmless, although grinding back to 20 isn't terribly fun I suppose. |

Forgot there is a vaal version of discipline now. Should have done that before it was added in the game.
I meant for gems that have no vaal version. Raise zombie should be one of those. The only thing that can happen is lose a lvl or lose some quality right? And the chance to gain some quality or gain a lvl? Last edited by kompaniet#2874 on Jun 1, 2014, 7:06:58 PM

worse thing that can happen i believe is -8 quality
unless you consider the week it'll take to level back to 20, losing quality is the worst http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1000307
