Disconnected from patching server before patching completed. Try again

Haven't been able to play at all ever since this update

Im stuck at "Checking resources" --then an error report appears(after a minute or two) "Disconnected from patching server before patching completed. Try again"

I haven't made any changes to my system prior to this update

I googled the problem and the common solution seems to be:
1) running as admin ---->i did, no change
2) disable windows firewall ---->i did, no change
3) disable/uninstall antivirus and software firewall ---->i did, no change
4) delete PathOfExile.exe .... PathOfExile.tmp to replace it ---->no PoE.tmp
5) --no patch ----> i did, got to the log in screen --but it says I need to restart PoE and download the patch
6) tried it again w/o --nopatch ----> Checking resource -> "Discontinued from patching server..." error again
7) packcheck.exe ---->no error

8) winmtr:

I know there are other posts about "Disconnected from patching server before patching completed. Try again"
but I felt I had to post, seeing as I tried a lot of suggested solutions, but the problem is still there
I hope the winMTR helps

"Disconnected from patching server before patching completed. Try again" . I feel almost like this issue to be mentioned a lot but do not have a way to satisfactorily resolve
So it looks like in the OPs case, they are likely having an issue with the peer between Level3 and networklayer. This is causing a loss of packets which is the same thing as a "disconnection" in many cases.

You should try tracing to the patching server itself as that is using a cdn which is different than pathofexile.com, but if it takes the same route, it will likely have the same problem.

You can find the 2 patching servers in the Client.txt log file in the Logs folder. It's easiest to rename/delete the existing file, then attempt to patch (with antivirus/firewall/security disabled, as administrator, etc). Near the top of the new Client.txt log file that is created should be 2 paths to a patching server. One should look like https://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/blahblahblah, and the other should say something like https://patch###.pathofexile.com:####/blahblahblah.

You can try tracing to both of those addresses... the addresses themselves being patchcdn.pathofexile.com and the patch###.pathofexile.com.

Don't put the :#### on the end because the patch server instances are on a different port, and that number at the end is the port number which is not used in the trace.

Hopefully you get better results on those traces and no packet loss. If you are still experiencing the packet loss, post the trace here and we can recommend further (likely an escalation to the ISP however).
