I +20% quality on an magic item, then accidentally used an orb of augmentation on the same item instead of the desired item and the +20% quality was removed.

Orb of Augmentation won't remove quality, but Jeweler's Orbs and Orbs of Fusing will.

" They have tested it locally multiple times...not to mention the repeated use from the mods/devs that actually play the game and can't reproduce the effect outside fusings and jewelers...they even went so far as to check and recheck the code and know that there is nothing in the code that will allow anything other than jewelers and fusing orbs to remove quality. Unless there are 10's to hundreds of reports of this all over the forums all created on a patch day there is no bug and you used a fusing orb or jewelers orb. Ancestral Bond.
