Deal with the Bandits. Can't store the Book of Reform.

So I went back and changed my cruel bandit reward to +8% Attack Speed ...or so I thought. I managed to use the Onyx Amulet with the Regret Orbs, so of course I got this:

Now I fixed it and bought the correct book, but the problem is that I can't store the one I already bought. I know I can drop it out of town, but I think we should be able to keep it in case we want to use it in the future (the game changes and people might want to change the reward again at a later date).

So why can't we just store the Book of Reforms in our stash tabs and use them whenever we feel like it? We paid the currency for it, so seems kinda stupid that GGG wants us to throw them away if we made a mistake.

And yes, I'm FULLY aware it was my mistake and not blaming GGG for that one. It just seems odd that we can't keep them in our stash after we've bought them.

Opinions?
It's probably flagged as a quest item(which also means you wouldn't be able to drop it either). Not being able to store them is done to prevent you from giving it to another character and being able to skip actually doing the quest on that character.
Opinion?

The quest as it was designed has already caused so much harm they should just finally get rid of the "decision set in stone" part completely. Get rid of books sitting in inventory, get rid of potential PK situation (you cannot help your friend doing this quest unless he wants to stick with the same decision you did before). Very silly, if you ask me.

When you mis-click one skill point in the tree, the cost to mend it is one orb of regret. I see absolutely no reason why one quest decision should cost more. In fact, the decision on this quest could have been an integral part of the skill tree (disconnected to everything else, of course) - a mini tree with three nodes for each difficulty, where you only gain one point to spend. And you could use Orb of regret just the same as for normal skill points.

The above would be quite transparent, consistent with the rest of the game and novice - friendly. Someone from GGG, please think about it
@Hodari - Didn't think about the fact that it might be seen by the game as a quest item and thus not tradeable/able to store in stash.

@aldorus - Good points, but I guess GGG see them as an integral part of the act 2 story so they want them included somehow. But I agree that perhaps it should be a tad bit easier to change your decision, especially considering GGG has changed the rewards in the past (patch Version 0.11.0) and back then there were no option to change your initial decision.

Part of my point in this topic is that if GGG again decides to change the bandits rewards, it would be nice to have the books already so you could go and make your changes without dealing with the spike in prices of whatever items needed to buy the books.
You can drop the Book out of Town.
“Demons run when a good man goes to war"
@Sneakypaw - yeah I know. I just think we should be able to keep it since we bought it and for other reasons I've stated earlier in the thread.

Thanks for replying though.
No, we shouldnt be able to store them but there should be a way to trade them back, maybe with a small penalty so people dont make that mistake again.
@DirkAustin - Excellent suggestion.
Create a mule character. Drop the book in a pub game and come back with your mule to pick it up.
