Best Ranger build for killing Atziri

I've already got a pretty good IIR/IIQ character for doing maps and stuff, so I'd like to build a Ranger that can successfully Solo kill Atziri.

Let's say I've got about 100 EX to spend, give or take.

What Ranger builds can do Atziri on that budget? Can a Lightning Arrow / Frenzy Ranger do it? Or maybe Spectral Throw?

Atziri's more of a technical fight than button mashing. I'd say pretty much any build could do it if you move/react well and don't just stand there and try to face tank like the RMT newbs who have to rely on 10K ES and a million DPS.

Sidra just soloed her with a standard phys crit build and is uploading a video to his thread as we speak. I'm about to go in there with my CoC Puncture. And probably the only thing worth more than a couple of ex on either of us is our bows.

I don't have the motivation to research about the fight or grind for map pieces, so I honestly have no idea whether my build can work in there or not. Might do it this weekend for the hell of it though.

I agree it's about the movement and how you avoid attacks, so I guess my question really boils down to, what Ranger build gets the most damage while still keeping a reasonable amount of tankiness?

I've got a rough plan for LA Ranger, but the Voltaxic will already cost me most of my budget so I won't be able to afford a Kaom's as well. My life would be a little low with that build.

Are there any other Ranger builds that dish out equal damage to Lightning Arrow, but might have more life and suitability? Thanks


PS: reason I'm focused on Ranger is because I already have one leveled to 77 I will just respec. I don't have the time or patience to level another character.

It really doesn't matter what AOE skill you choose as your main ability for the build. Lightning Arrow, Split Arrow, Rain of Arrows, Ice Shot - whatever it doesn't matter. For Atziri - you are really only going to be using your single target skill - which is Frenzy in nearly any case. You could swap in Puncture if you wanted, but the build is the same.

But make sure you do these things as you level whatever toon you choose to play:

1.) Level or Buy 20/20 Cast Speed and Decreased Duration, and a 20Q but keep Level 1 Lightning Warp.

-I have to run around because without those fully qualitied/leveled my Warps aren't fast enough

2.) Make the toon Acro/Phase Acro
-30% Spell Dodge you can't get going IR

3.) Keep HP High (5500+ but the more the merrier) - with that budget I might consider a non legacy Kaoms. Frenzy in your 6L bow, AOE in a 4L (for the fight only, you'd swap that for the rest of the game)

4.) Level Purity of Fire (Level 20 + +4 resists - I killedher with a lv 18 :()

I tend to believe Physical builds (Rain or Arrows or Split Arrow) are the best since Frenzy is a physical skill - it scales more strongly in those builds than in elemental ones, and you can use off gem leech saving a gem slot in your Frenzy as well. Plus - she's resistant to elemental damage so physical probably downs her faster.

Could you explain what that means? Are you saying I need 30% spell dodge? I'll have 15% from my Atziri boots, so I need another 15%?



And for Atziri, all I need is a high damage Frenzy + lvl 24 Purity of fire + a fast lightning warp for escape?


If I did build that, it seems split arrow with physical damage mods would be a better fit than Lightning arrow. But then, what aura's do physical damage split arrow builds use? Is it still Wrath, Anger, Hatred, with purity and vitality?

First of all - if you have not watched my videos of my Atziri fights I highly recommend that you do - and check out my build as well. I have not seen any other videos of bow rangers killing Atziri - so it's a good visual of what you're in for and to help plan your build.

Also - get the whole idea of what you need and don't need your head. You don't need anything and she can be killed in a multitude of ways...but you are asking what's best. So you tell me, if you take a flameblast hit, or a lightning explosion, which is "better" - a 16% chance to evade it or a 46% chance? It's your decision, but to be honest it's sort of a silly question. "I am going to have 16% spell dodge against a enemy who chain casts tons of dangerous spells...do I need 30% more?"

A better question would me me asking you "Why the hell wouldn't you want 30% more!?"

I run Hatred and Purity of Fire. In my video, I actually forgot Purity of Fire and left Grace on for most of it. Been running her for a few days now though, and I don't even know how much it helps. The smaller flameblasts don't quite kill me either way, and the big ones do no matter what. The key to the battle is avoiding taking multiple hits in quick succession, healing quickly, and being sure you avoid her big double Flameblasts.

If you are looking at my build and then asking what is ideal, I would literally only change 2 things. I'd drop 2 damage nodes on the Pierce circle and add Herbalism to have flasks recharge more quickly, and the 4% run speed node above conditioning. I played the whole game without Lightning Warp so it's hard now just starting to use it and count on it in a high stress situation - I'd rather just run. IMO - that wold be the ideal Atziri killer bow ranger build.
