How Necessary is Dexterity?

Right now, on my level 62 fire Templar I have invested 0 points into dexterity. I have no found the gems for multi projectiles, increased speed, etc. and don't have high enough dex to use them.

I know Kripp said that Dex is the second most important stat after life (but I figured that was dependent on build and he was talking about on his wand templar).

Should I be putting points into dex to use some of the dex skill gems or just go without it?

Well dexterity is good for accuracy, evasion, and reaching the dexterity requirements for skills/armor. I'm making an almost no dex build with a templar, and since I know accuracy will be a problem for me I'm going with Resolute Technique. If you find you want more accuracy/evasion go for it.
