Dev Diary Archive: Understanding GGG's Vision
With the recent Open Beta launch, our community has expanded greatly with an influx of new players. Unfortunately, this has also caused some tension in the community, with new players being sometimes frustrated by the perceived "protectiveness" of some of the "old guard" players. I think in many of these cases, the problem arises when a newer player inadvertently makes a suggestion that goes against GGG's vision for the game, and triggers a hostile response from the older players.
To help new players understand GGG's vision and why certain things are the way they are, I have put together this list of dev diaries from the early days of PoE. While there are no entries specifically addressing the hot topics right now (ie loot options, full respec), they do give a very good perspective on what kind of game GGG is trying to make. When I first found out about PoE, it was these dev diaries that made me fall in love with the game and decide to support GGG by paying for a beta key.
