error message when starting, help!
Been playing the game for months, really fun, now get THIS when hitting my POE icon:
"Your pack file has become corrupted. Currently the only way to fix this is to delete Content.ggpk and download it again by running the client." PLEASE, I don't want to lose my level 47 witch, she's the best! Thanks! |

" You answered your own question! Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

It's an online game, you won't lose anything by deleting your game files. You are completely free to uninstall, reinstall, or defrag your game without losing anything except time.

Wow, scared me for a while! Hate to lose Gotebo.
So do I just reinstall the game or delete what I have first or what? Thanks! |

I believe that, if you simply run the client again after deleting said file, it will download the required file automatically. If that doesn't work, then obviously do a re-installment.

" You do not need to uninstall the game, you simply need to delete the pack file. C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile This will most likely be where your game files are. If it is not, right click the shortcut on your desktop select properties, copy the location in the 'start in' field. Navigate there by pressing the "Windows Key + R" on your keyboard paste the location in and press enter, or alternatively clicking Start and pasting the location in the search box then open that folder. Either method will work. Now all you need to do is delete the file named 'Content.ggpk'. Close the folder. Launch the PoE client and the patching process will start and download a new Content.ggpk. It will take some time as it is downloading a large file. Once the patch is complete you should now be able to play the game. Please report back if this solved your problem or not. Thank-you. stop over moderating that makes the official forums useless Last edited by bchan#3151 on May 2, 2014, 10:35:07 AM
