How do you combine two gems into one?
I'm still new in this game and idk that much but ummm. How do you combine two Gems into one? I learn this thing in one of the trailer which is the Open beta trailer where it says "Combine Skill Gems" for example Fire + Chain and Fire + Totem. How do you combine them?

They mean that you link support gems to Active gems in different configurations.

The game will start dropping items that have multiple "sockets" in them and sometimes there will be a "link" between those "sockets". This enables you to place 2 gems in those "sockets" that will then function together.
Do take in mind only "support gems" are able to enhance a regular "skill gem". A skill gem also has a description of attributes at the top of the gem. For instance this "flame totem" can be supported by gems and passive tree nodes that modify "fire, projectile, spell, totem, duration" As such a gem like this : That reads "spell, support" at the top, will be able to effect the flame totem. (in this case the flame totem will get 19% reduced cast speed and gain +1% spell damage per 5 str) Hope this some what explains what you are asking for. For example this is a 5-link armor i am using with a set-up in it. This has the set-up "cyclone > power charge on crit > cast on crit > ethereal knives > life steal" Giving me a cyclone that is supported by four gems in total. Gl and hf sir. Edit : You do not COMBINE, you LINK them in a piece of gear that allows it :). This allows synergy to occur. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Last edited by Boem#2861 on Apr 13, 2014, 8:43:14 AM
