Ice Witch

Not fully true Way2Saucey, although partly. It Calculates the stun chance and duration with the max health you would have had without the CI node. Since you probably won't be picking up life notes and such, you'll still have a pretty high chance to be stunned. However you will always have your energy shield up so the crit chance will be capped at 50%.(you have a 50% chance to avoid stun when energy shield is up)

Does anyone have any info (or opinions) how much difference there would be between CI or not when it comes to stuns?

Looking at the life nodes in the tree, headed toward shadow and not templar, I see 170% life boost. If getting the nodes just to the west of witch start, that becomes 194%. Which is a LOT, and could make a pretty big difference to the stuns.

However, getting all of those nodes would take a full 22 skill points! And there are more below shadow.

Now, probably no build is going to get *all* of those, but let's look at what's readily available, right on our way. ... 146% for 16 points. So let's say you'd have about 41% the chance to be stunned if you went this route instead of getting CI (100/246).

So then the question is, is losing that 146% life and the extra stun resistance it provides worth 16 passive points (18 if you would have grabbed those chaos resistance nodes, but a couple less if we want Ghost Reaver)?

Well, maybe so, when we consider that there is a total of 163% energy shield which is easy to get to, but how much of that will we lose by putting those points into life? Probably a majority, especially those near the middle of the tree and to the right of the main shadow block (and that last one has 10% resistances in it). Plus who knows whatever else we might want to grab.

I think it's still a tough call. Any insights into this? How advantageous is it to lose the life but gain the immunity and all those passive points?
