I do agree with this, at least judging by pretty much every single review I've read about vanilla D3.

The one thing that I do think is valid in regards to comparing said games is that, with RoS improving things much, is that the flaws that remain in D3 seem easier to fix than the flaws that remain in PoE.

D3 wouldn't require basically a complete rewrite of the engine due to technical flaws, PoE would. Of course, D3 would require Blizzard to add a lot of depth to it.

I think the somewhat sad realization that I, and probably others, are coming to is that it's starting to appear more likely that Blizzard will add depth to D3 than that GGG will add technical stability to PoE. Both certainly unlikely in the end, but the former could happen while it's becoming increasingly clear that the latter's not going to.

To note, I don't think that takes away from PoE being a very good game, it definitely is. It just means that I'm not seeing it grow beyond that, which is a shame because I do believe that it has that potential.

Sadly, having played PoE for quite some time now, I only see it getting worse. There is a lot of new content, to be sure. But the stability/desync issues are getting worse and GGG seems focused on adding new skills/microtransaction effects, while hundreds of people are QQing on forums for balance changes and/or ragequitting. Only interesting thing that happened recently in PoE were ambush strongboxes.

Lol really hard to debate with u, because the points u make are not really arguements, but just ur opinions. Its almost as if ur being paid to promote PoE. Open ur eyes dude, the forums are full of people quitting and QQing about the so called "very good" game. Having interesting mechanics alone can't make a game popular, the playing experience needs to be enjoyable as well. Since u don't think that the steam charts are a good indication of how the playerbase is reducing each month, might be do a forum search for "quitting" threads.

And the forums 'full of people quitting' is actually just a circlejerk of a handful of people who can't quit the forums x) Most quitters don't even quit the game. Stinky cries about desync since the birth of baby Jesus and he still plays :3 Just an example.

* Vanilla D3 sucked dick, but not the same kind of dick that PoE sucks - the Desync PoE's got, that elephant in the room, is still there. So it's also not fair to compare. Vanilla D3 finished last in regular Game-olympics. PoE came first place in Special olympics, and until the desync is gone, it will ALWAYS be Special olympics.

I agree, RoS isnt worth 40$. It's an improvement, really, but they want too much for it. Others sell brand-new games for that price, not just mere add-ons.

No. It's not. Because the analogy implies D3 was good enough to be in the Olympics at all. In fact, reverse the analogy, but both didn't win, and the analogy makes more sense.

Played some more, ran some rifts. Don't understand what was there to argue about earlier, it's pretty obvious how to run them efficiently. Stack up on movement speed and aoe damage, go looking for glowing enemies and chests as you round up trash mobs and aoe it all down when you have gathered a big enough pack.

I picked up the lightning shrine and ran into a massive pack, suddenly my fps dropped down to 10 from it's usual 60. So much for no performance issues in D3.
