Linking Steam <-> PoE account via Launcher fails

Hi, I got some troubles while trying to link my Steam account to the PoE account using the launcher.

Note: I didn't an extensive search of this kind of bug, in case this post is a duplicate or doesn't belong here, feel free to move/delete it.

Today (after a long time) I tried to play PoE.
So, >open Steam >wait for PoE updates >launch PoE

The launcher asked me to select a gateway (Europe, in my case), and a form asking me to link my Steam account popped up.

I remembered I had an account but assumed it was deleted for inactivity, so I tried to make a new one. It turned out I assumed wrong. Image related

I was like "maybe, it is not the password it's looking for", so I asked a password reset and got a new one.
After that (meanwhile I didn't close the launcher), I tried to login again. Same response.
[[I think this is not a "wrong message" error if the password is wrong, as I thought in the first time]]

WORKAROUND: the link procedure, if done by the site, works. I already did that, so I cannot help solving this bug.
After the Steam<->PoE link, I closed the launcher, reopened and it just worked.
