A while back GGG posted a screen shot of someone fishing, it was posted as an April's fool joke way back in CB.

Then it became a popular meme on the forum, and then for a little while GGG included fishing rods as a base item in the game and added mods for the items in case some one wanted to roll the base items.

Now they can no longer drop and the people who did manage to get some, got to keep them as legacy items in Standard (and possibly vanilla HC), now everytime someone mentions fishing these people will come into threads and post their legacy rods along with stupid stories of how to get one.


We really need better memes on this forum.

Just because Chris posted a video of him doing something, doesn't mean that thing is actually in the game. You do realize that the devs at GGG have access to developer copies of the game and can make it do pretty much whatever they want, right?

As for that screen shot, it was way back in closed beta, can't find it any where.

lol. we tried to tell you back in that other thread that they were still dropping (this was over a month ago). but no, you just called us trolls. and yes, they still drop and have been this entire time. all it takes is a quick poe.xyz search.

No I called the guy who said "wear a hat and spend all your high end currency orbs on your fishing rod" a troll, because he was one.

If you can fish, do post a video of your character fishing, then link a fish?
