Frost Shadow build. Needing Advice!

Hi guys! Currently playing Hardcore on my shadow and I am going frost magic. I now want to boost my survivability and I am thinking of putting a point into "Ghost reaver" while stacking alot of life leech/ES. Would this benefit me or just kill my character completely?
