Block and spell block OP

I have to agree with pants.

The investment on the passive tree to max block is reasonable.

Shields are very strong right now, yes, but when you consider that back in CB people were complaining that armour was overpowered and EV was shit, then without any changes at all to mechanics, Armour suddenly became pointless and EV was the best defense instead, as long as you had the life pool for it. Why? Because people were not understanding the numbers

Block is powerful. Yes.

Aegis is a bit too powerful. Yes

But block on its own? I would not say it is overpowered. That would imply that with just a shield and white weapons/gear you can take on enemies that are far stronger than you.

No, block is not overpowered. It is powerful though, that can not be denied
Maybe the block value on BoR is still a too high also, 15% is huge and it makes capping much easier.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
If they balance blocking for Hardcore, it will always be heinously underpowered in Softcore.
If they balance blocking for Softcore, it will always be heinously overpowered in Hardcore.
The correct balance is somewhere between the two: slightly OP in Hardcore, and slightly UP in Softcore.

Block is the only game mechanic that does not have a counter... just saying.

Ah, yes, all enemies take that cluster, I'm sure.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Some of them should.

Seriously.

That would be cool. "Heavy Hit, reduces block chance", give it to a telegraphed attack like those blind bugs in sewers
Now that I think about it, "Cannot be Blocked" should probably be a rare monster affix, and "Players cannot Block" a map affix.

WHY would you want more map affixes that don't affect some characters at all and completely neuter other builds?
