How does item stats work with gems?
|
I have a real nice hat. It has +100 to accuracy rating and three sockets. I also have a cool cleaver with some linked sockets where I would like to put my gems so that I can support them with other gems.
Will my skills added in my weapon also get +100 to accuracy rating since my hat has that property, or does that only apply to skills in that item? Also, when it comes to +% Critical Strike Chance and +%Global Critical Strike With Spells, I guessed that +% Critical Strike Chance only applies to gems in that item, but +%Global Critical Strike With Spells applies to all spells used by the character using the item. Is that correct? What is the meaning of the word 'Global' here. About +%Spell Damage, does that affect all gems used by character, or just does that just affect gems in the item having the property? Thanks a lot! Last edited by a_miphe#2700 on Mar 22, 2014, 6:24:02 AM

Modifiers are "non-global" only under certain circumstances, such as "+ X% Increased Armor" on a helmet, or "+% Critical Strike Chance" on a weapon.
When that happens, the modifier only applies to the item. Say you have a sword with +20% Critical Strike Chance in your main hand, and "Double-Strike" slotted in your shield. Using Double Strike will benefit from the extra crit chance, because the sword is used to attack. On the other hand, if you have "Fireball" slotted in the sword, casting Fireball will not benefit from the extra crit chance, because the Fireball doesn't use the sword. You can basically count that any modifier that applies to a base stat of an item is "local" to that item, unless it is mentionned as "Global". For weapons : Accuracy, Attack Speed, Damage, Crit For Armour : Armour, Evasion, Energy Shield etc ...... |

Accuracy is always global.
Global means it gives/modifies stats that your character has, not the item or skill. Local means that it affects the items stats, not yours or Gems. On weapons and armors every stat is local unless mentioned otherwise ( aka it saying global). On any other type of item, all stats are global unless mentioned otherwise. Only exception i can think of atm is spell damage on weapons and armor is also always global. Also if item has some stat that will affect gems socketed in it, the stat will tell you that ( +1 to fire gems in this item, gems in this item are supported by level x gem, etc) Ign: LavaMosse TimeZone: GMT+2 Last edited by kaarelo#6451 on Mar 22, 2014, 11:16:40 AM
