Does reduced mana have a cap or this gem is buged?

The I ask this is:

I have Charisma + 3 Reduced Mana reservation nodes (25% reduction) + Alpha´s Howl (8% reduced).

Now... when I support my auras with a level 20 (currupted but unchanged) Reduced mana reserve it gives me the same amount as a level 18 Reduced mana reserve.

Yes, I deactivate the auras and reactivate it after switching the gems in the test described.

So is there a cap? Or does the chance from leve 18 gem and level 20 is absolutly none?

Or could it be a bug with my corrupted level 20 gem (acting like it is a level 18?)

Because of how rounding works, it ends up rounding to the same Mana Reserved, ie, 29%.

Level 20 Reduced Mana:
.71 * .67 = .47
1 - .47 = .53
.53 * .6 = .31
.6 - .31 = .29 (29%)

Level 18 Reduced Mana:
.73 * .67 = .48
1 - .48 = .52
.52 * .6 = .31
.6 - .31 = .29 (29%)

In PoE, EVERYTHING, rounds down.

It´s not the rounding. Its the corruption. Here is the new fact:

Alpha´s Owl adds 2 levels to my level 18 gem, making it equal to my level 20 gem.

But my level 20 gem is currupted and DON´T benefit from Alpha´s Owl +2 level bonus. Therefore, as long as I´m equipping those gems on the Alpha´s Owl, they will produce identical results.

I´ve tested both gems on other piece of gear and there was different results. Ergo: "Corrupted gems don´t benefit from +Level bonus on gear".

Whoa, that's a big deal. Thanks for telling everyone. Suddenly level 21 corrupted gems are not nearly as good. Wonder if it is intended.

Rereading, it sounds like you need to test a non corrupted level 20 to make sure. If you can't find one try to catch me this weekend I got a spare level 20 in standard.

Alpha's Howl gives +2 to AURA Gems, Reduced Mana is NOT an Aura Gem. So regardless of it being Corrupted or not, it would not benefit from it.

And you are wrong that Corrupted Gems do not benefit from +Level Effects.

Just tested it with a new non corrupted lvl 20 one. Same results.

It´s the rounding then? It only occurs when equiping the stuff in alpha´s Howl though.

Auras setup leave me with 102 free mana on Alpha´s (both level 20 and level 18).

BUT

Gets 32 free mana (no alpha - level 20)

and

7 free mana (no alpha - level 18)

Difference is substantial.

But is the rounding so ruthless that I get 25 mana points of difference when not using the 8% of Alpha´s Howl and NO difference when using it? And I´m a terrible mathematician (I´m a great designer though =)

What is your Max Mana, out of curiosity? Is it around ~784?
