Loud Noises When Exiting Game

This has actually been an issue for awhile (several months) and I'm finally deciding to say something about it, but when I exit the game I hear an extremely loud scratch noise or thudding type sound. I use the Logitech G35 headset, with the 7.1 surround sound on (assuming this has something to do with it).
