After looking in the support forum:
*I'm not sure if my graphics card can handle Pixel Shader 3.0, and I don't know how to check. *When I right click the shortcut there is no 'run game with the dedicated graphics card' option. *I tried deleting 'production_config.ini', this did not solve the problem. I'll try running the installer a second time to check that I have the correct installation of Direct X, but I don't remember seeing anything about that. |

if u guys have ATI/AMD video cards make sure 100% you have at least pixel shader 3.0 supported by your video card and try this:
In the production_Config.ini found in the folder C:\Users\*your user*\My Documents\My games\Path of Exile\production_Config.ini open the file and where u see [DISPLAY] if u do not see your video card listed in the first line of the file i.e. [DISPLAY] adapter_name=*your video card name* <<<------ FIRST ROW antialias_mode=0 bordeless_windowed_fullscreen=true .. .. .. .. just manually write the first row like i wrote above and your video card name. in my case is Radeon x1950 Pro. And the easiest way is to ask a friend of yours that has a different video card than ATI/AMD, ofcourse if his game launches, to give u his production_Config.ini and replace it/overwrite it with your older/current one that u have and u cannot launch the game. Hope i helped u guys. Cheers! |

" I'm in the same boat. Maybe the Mac port guys will figure it out. I've tried quite a few things such as moving the game folder over to a windows VM to run packcheck, different versions of wine both 32 and 64 bit, deleting config file, you name it. *shrug* Stumped for now. |

the D3D errors on Linux are almost always a glx driver issue, or DirectX version problem. Did you try to winetricks d3dx9_42?
