Augmentation or Alteration?

I have been using the recipe

Normal+Magic+Rare = Augmentation Orb,

But I'm not sure if it's worth it. I can't seem to find augmentation mentioned in the forums much.

Would 15 or so shards of alteration be better?

What is the (rough) exchange rate of

Augmentation : Chaos
Alteration : Chaos

Augmentation is rarely, if ever, bought/sold.

Generally save some for yourself for crafting, and just use the Vendor to convert the spares into Alterations..

4 Augs = 1 Alts that way.

I've got 222 Augs sitting in my Stash... lol >_<

I use Augments almost specifically for rolling a second mod on low level maps... you don't end up needing that many unless you're rolling for very specific blue maps early on in your map pool.


Alterations on the other hand can be sold en masse for chaos or even exalt in large quantities.

should I augment the strong boxes in ambush league?

(I just started playing again, haven't been on since beta)
