Massive lag and audio "buzz"

around shrines and in corrupted area's. Reinstalled new drivers, next step is uninstall and reinstall of PoE.
*reinstall same issue** Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins. Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. Uh, what kind of audio buzz? I hope you mean like some strange interference like a humming noise.
I've a few quick questions - was the noise changing intensity slightly depending on which windows you had opened ingame? For example stash window? Also was the noise there during loading screens between areas? And was it there on the character selection screen? That's how the mysterious noise manifests for me. If a reinstall fixed the problem for you, it might fix mine as well, but I'd like to know if we are actually having the same issue. Reinstall would take a while for me so I would like to avoid it if it wouldn't fix the issue... Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

Sounds like either a corrupt sound file or more likely a setting in one of the files(probably the config file)
Maybe run the pack check first before uninstalling the game? Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

" Great idea, I completely forgot about that. Thanks, will report what happens after I'm done. Might help some other people as well, who knows. EDIT: pack check ran successfully... Makes me really sad. The crappy sound issue is bothering me quite a bit, I have to turn on music to mask it, and I'm quite sensitive to sound quality, so even with that I can hear the buzzing in the back while playing. One more thing to note which might be helpful to devs - on my speakers there is no noise, everything works perfect (Altec Lansing VS2221, really old, but when I was buying it was a superb buy, and I'm still really loving these after some 7 years or so), but on my headset (SpeedLink Medusa NX 5.1) there's buzzing noise exclusive to Path of Exile. When the game loads, at the login screen there is no noise - as soon as it switches to character selection, the noise starts - during the loading screen to an ingame area there is no noise again, and from then on the periods without noise are while the passive tree is on, or during loading screens between areas.
