Path of Exile Beta Review.
Hello everyone!
My name is Jack and I am an aspiring game reviewer and having played Path of Exile since it was released for open beta a couple days back, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test out my creative writing skills and help gain some exposure to my website. You can find the review at http://www.brooksreviewsgames.com/ - I would really appreciate as much feedback as possible on the review to help me improve! I aim to make reviewing games a viable career path for myself but can't if no one knows I'm out there! Thanks for reading and I hope to see your comments on my review! Yours, Jack. |

@ongZ - The game deserves it, I have enjoyed near enough all aspects of the game and for a Beta, it is truly astonishing at the quality of the build this early into open beta!

So far a 8/10 review. For the parts you do not like, give a more concrete suggestion/comparison.
GG OP. Keep playing. :) I need more purple titles

Sorry for not providing more in-depth feedback, but there's one thing that immediately jumps out at me. The review score is lime green with a white background, and it doesn't appear to be bold or anything. Luckily, that is something that can easily be fixed. I'd recommend more contrast, at the very least.

@Wisdom - That's perfectly fine, any feedback regardless of how little is always helpful! :)

Review seems fine. Although, if it is just you alone, then I think you should try to get a decent youtube channel going. Be professional but show a little personality so people can get into your reviews a little more and see how you are. For example: Angry Joe is one of my favorite reviewers, not because of his opinions since I do tend to disagree with him occasionally, but because of how outgoing and fun he is to watch. Maybe not go over the top special effects and all that but make yourself stand out. If your going to be covering all sorts of genres of games then you have to think, "why would people want to go to one of those crap sites like ign over mine?" And honestly, I think having your own honest opinion about your experience is much better then just telling the people what they want to hear.
Just some stuff to consider. I hope everything works out and that you get a good following. :) |
