Chaos Resistance has made me consider quiting Poe.. Help
Current Diff: Merciless Chaos resistance: -60 : ( frustrating!.. is all i can say.. Last night i decided to perhaps give up Poe.. Why? Because this Negative Chaos Resistance thing has just frustrated me so damn bad and there appears to be very little things to counter act it. I have ran into Chaos resistance rings but even those have little impact and typically only cut my res down by like 10 or so. I have a character i have put countless hours into and i am not interested in starting over at the moment and still really want Could really use some help for this is my first mmorpg my current one to work. I would have liked to post my current gear and stats but was unsure how to other than my tree. Getting killed on the battlefield : / For the hell of it.. here's my Tree: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQAAdwFLRHVFx0b-iFgJd8n7SmlMZ4yCTSTNZI64TwtQKBHfkrITeNOKlPfV5dY21uvYEFgS2NwZU1sRm6qcmxyqXTteA1673zZhNmE74jxmSubLZuDnrmkGaZXqW6rxaxZrKq18rZBtz69gb6KvqfAD8T2xq7STd0N52Pv4_JF_MX-Cv6P |

You don't really need chaos res. It's good to have when you reach maps, but even thereif you play safe and know the bosses before fighting them you'll be fine. Most my chars run -60% chaos res until after Piety, I usually skip sewers and come back when I got some chaos res. Reaching 75% all elementeal res and 75% chaos res is not a reality for most players (99.99%) and it's def not necessary. Having 0% chaos res is already a huge bonus, 40% will make you feel like a chaos res god:
To link your gear click on your char name (top left near poe logo) and click on w/e items you want to link, do that with the text box open. English is not my first language. Last edited by digdigo#0656 on Mar 2, 2014, 12:34:34 PM

^^ Couldn't agree more. Most players don't give a damn about chaos res. Would it help to have some? Hell yeah, but having a positive chaos res while having all ele res capped is almost impossible. I remember when I had 2% chaos res on my duelist (with ele res at 75%), people called me a chaos god. I was always the designated party member to facetank chaos dmg bosses.

As guys said chaos res doesnt matter that much. Sure any extra is welcome but most of the time you can survive long enough to kill chaos monsters (dont stand in chaos clouds!)
Well having said that I was so pissed off at Weaver and few other chaos dealing bosses (that labirynth boss I think) that I brought my chaos res to max. But I wanted to kill these exact bosses easily. So dont worry mate, if you can grab some chaos res it is good but if you cant and it is really bothering you get some extra life leech/regen. I AM MAD

get a pair of the unique boots that give you 50% chaos res per flask used. You can cap your chaos resistance long enough to kill any chaos boss with those puppies

The other thing is, you say you are dying in Battlefield but there is just thorns and lightning there, not chaos damage.
But a couple chaos items aren't too much to trade for if you're concerned. The people who ignore chaos are fast killers who leech/regen a lot of life or CI of course. I do try to get some gear for certain areas and builds. Don't give up yet if it's otherwise fun, you can figure it out. Last edited by raziekeljr#3483 on Mar 2, 2014, 1:49:22 PM

" The boots in question are called 'Dusktoe'. They're a lower level STR/DEX boot (they only require Level 6). Most of their effects aren't really anything to write home about; all they really have going for them is that any flasks you use also give +50% Chaos Res for the duration of the Flask's effect. They're not worth using as your primary boots, but could be kept on hand for fights where you know you're going to see a lot of Chaos Damage. They're also pretty cheap; in Standard (where prices are generally higher than normal), Poe.xyz lists them as being about a Chaos. |

If chaos damage is a real big issue for you, you can try being a summoner instead. Why risk taking chaos damage, when you can have your minions suffer in place of you? :D
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

yah...with -60 chaos resistance and not CI you'll get wrecked in high maps, and low lvl map bosses will eat you alive (devourer in Orchard, spider boss in like 3 maps, 3 museum clowns). Also snakes are everywhere in maps, and they hurt even with -20 chaos.
It is really quite simple to get some chaos resist. 2 25%+ chaos resist mods on ANY of your gear would bring you under -10% chaos resist, which is not hard to get 2 simple mods unless your decked out in uniques. It may be tricky finding chaos resist on 1 specific piece of gear, but surely you can get at least 1 mod on chest, shoes, gloves, rings, ammy, shield, and belt, that still has stats similar to what your currently wearing.
