i was thinking of running 3-4 instances of the game for next season so i can get the gems i need for my build more quickly. i wont be using any programs or bots that will alter the gameplay (maybe virtual machines to access the game if allowed)
i will be basically slow rushing my chars by myself. i wanted to see if this was allowed and how many accounts i can run simultaneously under one IP.
thanks

As many as you want, but steam will only let you open one client. If you use stand alone it will only let you open 2 clients, after that you have to use other computers or virtual machines.

I'm pretty sure you can run more then one copy of the standalone client(unless something changed at release).

I remember reading something about no more than 2.
If the PoE standard client lets you open 2 but not 3 I would take that as a clear sign...

I never remember them announcing adding a restriction. I know for a fact back pre-1.0 the only limit was how many instances of the game your computer could handle.

So you want to run a 3-4 man party by yourself simultaneously?
Dear Maligaro,
I left my head in San Francisco, I lost my legs in Peru
My liver and kidney are on holiday in Sydney
And I am sending my Heart to you

Yes. It was in the 1.0.6 Patch Notes
"Legal" (official, if you want) number is 2 clients
3 and more will get you in trouble
Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.

Chris said on reddit that you can use 3+ if you are using different computers - or virtual machines, since they have no way of being able to tell the difference.

The IP address would be the same unless you also use a different ISP/network. If they wanted to prevent this, they could.
