Brutus, Normal Mode.
" Hehe, thrilling is certainly one word for it! ;) Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I think I might look into getting some fire traps to go alongside my current attacks, and see if that can save my fingers from a little bit of button mashing! ;) I'm not a n00b- I'm a Online Game Floor Examination Expert.

I'm thinking you should take down brutus like I do on my witch - blow his ass up! You need to kite him around lay your traps and "lure" him into them. Time it so that after he shoots out that weapon, throw a trap at him. Since you're shadow, you can make it even more fun - if you have whirling blades or blink, I used to do that and took him down quickly.
The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji? | |

I started the game by thinking I'll save all my points until the end and then see what I need, looking to survive just off gear.
Well once I hit this guy I was in the same situation. I could barely scratch him and he would squash me like a bug so I opened a port on my second attempt and just kept using it to regenerate my pots. I then allocated all the skill points available into armour/health/strength for my Marauder =) |

kryadan - the most valuable skill that you will ever need in this game is KITE KITE KITE LOL! Especially if you're squishy like a witch or shadow. That's why we have minions, traps, mines, totem, etc... to do the dirty work for us. Usually in act 2 I'll send the boys with traps and totems to an area and then walk in and collect the loot while shit is going down. Unless you a big bad marauder with a massive aoe attack, you got to kite your ass off.

DOn't know which lvl but I had no problem with my close-combat-ranger. Tried to hit+run for a while to avoid his chain, but that was annoying and unsatisfying, so I just engaged with permanent doublestrike... and he was down after 3-4 seconds, and had only one hit on me. Dynamit,

Brutus is incredibly slow. For a range character, I always run in a small circle around him, and whenever he starts his attack animation I fire at him(His attack animations are slow) I do this until he is dead.
As a Melee character, I do the same but go in for a few hits when he does his animation. Never run away from Brutus in a straight line. He'll get you with his hook. Done properly, you can actually kill Brutus without getting hit, though slower melee chars can usually tank him as long as you went for HP passives first. But really, as long as you have decent items and some HP you can tank him on most chars without a problem on Normal. Last edited by Rollback#5721 on Jan 28, 2013, 2:18:35 PM

I usually take him down at level 9. But with this character I got to him at level 10, I'm a bow shadow. Had no problem killing him. Just focus on dodging e hit & run

" As a Witch, that's what I do for practically any stronger mob. Fire Traps do an incredible amount of damage. |

Well it was piece a cake for me, Brutus havent even scratch me. I was using a witch with a bow on poison arrows and weakly minions. If i had fire traps and poison arrows, it would be alot quicker.
I heard hes a very tough opponent toes to toes, i wouldnt go near him unless you have alot of armor, hit points and evasion. Dont count evasion much, one good hit will hurt like hell if you dont have alot of armor. |

" I think I have a little way to go before I am good enough to avoid being hit altogether- maybe I should pop something in speed, while I'm at it. Kiting has been a life saver, that's true- and maybe what I really need is just a bit more practice! XD Again, thanks for all the suggestions and help guys! :) I'm not a n00b- I'm a Online Game Floor Examination Expert.
