What is the Paua Amulet + Iron Ring Recipe?

A friend of mine told me it was something like a Rare Paua Amulet plus 6 or 7 Iron Rings would give you a new Rare Paua Amulet. I tried vendoring a few different combinations and I'm not getting anything. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Does the Rare amulet I'm trading have to be unidentified or something?
