Axe or Sword?

So Im making a dual wield cyclone+dual strike Duelist, and I cant decide on my end game gear. I have the currency to purchase decent items, so what will get me higher physical dps, axes or swords?

Honestly, 1-one handed swords are by far the worst physical weapons (daggers have crit, claws have leech so they're better in utility). Only 1H-swords worth using are rapiers and only for elemental. Axes are kinda meh too, but better than swords. In addition, if you ever get your hands on a Soul Taker, its GG from there, which is everyone's dream cyclone weapon, and will benefit from Axe nodes.

Daggers are indeed the best 1h weapons in game.
Claws... they do have the leech, but they have much lower DPS than axes/swords. Sword can have 2+ APS, which is very good for scaling ele damage from gear/auras. Axes are kinda meh, but ST is a solution for a non-EB Cyclone build, and since it would be in the off-hand and is an axe, getting another axe would be convenient due to the passives (axe passives near Duelist area are excellent). But, you'd perform a lot better with a shield, dual wielding is my favorite playstyle, but it's obsolete compared to 2-handers and 1-hander + shield. |
