Downloaded on Steam.

Steam client forces you to link.
I don't want to wait another 4 hours to download PoE.
Is it possible to use the standalone version of the executable to run using files from Steam?
Like running PathOfExile.exe in the Steam version's folder?
If so, can I get a copy of that?
Or simply, have an actual login for the Steam version that doesn't link?

I'm not sure I completely understand your issue.

If you ALREADY have a PoE account from Beta or otherwise (the Classic version) then you can play using the classic method normally. If you want to play it on Steam, you just have to click on your name at the top of the page and click Manage Account -> Steam and enter your Steam information and link it (as long as you have NOT already played Path of Exile on Steam or created a Steam-Only PoE account).

I'm not sure right now what the state of your account is.

As for playing the game itself.. I'm also not sure what you're trying to do. You seem to already have PoE downloaded on Steam (and I assume you've already played it on Steam?). I guess I'm unclear on how everything is currently set up with your PC clients and your accounts.

You should be able to run Path of Exile under the Steam folder (either through Steam or not). If you don't want to run it under Steam, I believe you just need to copy in the PathOfExile.exe file and you can play it, but I am not 100% sure on that.

Best bet is to get your PC set up properly and your accounts set up properly
I have an account not from Steam.
I got a new computer, so I had to re-download the game.

Steam forces you to link an account.
I want to play without linking an account.

I downloaded it through Steam, and was wondering if there are alternatives to playing without linking an account and without re-downloading.
As I said above, you can try downloading that PathOfExile.exe into your Steam install and see if it works.

I'm not sure why you chose to install it on Steam however since you had no intention of linking your account to Steam... but that's a different discussion I guess. If it doesn't work putting that PathOfExile.exe into your Steam install, then you'll be forced to install it all again.

You can do this by copying that PathOfExile.exe into wherever folder you want Path of Exile installed to, then right-click and select "Run as Administrator". It will launch and begin downloading/installing again.

Good luck.
