Where's the belts?!

I'm a level 45 and am still using a lvl 10 belt because I simply cannot find any that drop. I ran a party of mid-40s last night and not one had one above level 10,and when I asked general chat there was only a couple of people that higher level. I'm just wondering WTF is up with belt drops.

I see belt drops all the time and you know you can turn white items into rares, right? Pick up a white belt or buy one from a vendor and upgrade it. Problem solved.

I know that, I just don't see them often unless they are white, and even then they are pretty low level. It just seems odd that so many people can't find good belts.

This game has a sort of unintuitive way to determine an items power. you'll probably notice that even in higher level zones some whites will be level 10-19 or something like that. however that's not how the game determine the stats of the item. that's based on item level, the way you figure out the item level of the item is to type /itemlevel with the item selected. so if you have two level 10 belts, one of them may have a item level 15 and other other has an item level 35, the level 10 item with item level 35 can and will roll higher stats than 15 if you roll it with currencies.

Thank you! I had no idea about any of that. I'm defiantly going to be checking item level before using orbs from now on.

So I have to type that ***** for each item again and again and again with the item selected?
Even Pluggy from D2 made that better ......

yeah it's weird, you get use to it though. think they they should include the item level on the tooltip somewhere...
Item level is determined by the mob level. So a level 34 zone, any white mob is going to drop level 34, or around there, Ilvl gear. A blue mob will drop in a range that is around 35, a rare going to a range around 36, and a orange mob giving around 37/38. I may be wrong, but this is generally what I've experienced. A quick example would be earlier this evening I got a nice socket pair of white boots from Cruel Felshire which were from a white mob and ilvl 41.

Please correct me if I'm wrong though. :P
"Do or do not, there is no try."
Pretty much right.

I've heard people say that unique mobs give +3, but I still don't believe it. If this were the case, than bosses (in maps) would be able to drop +3 lvl maps. Which they don't.

I could be wrong about the unique part, but the rest of what you said is correct.
The belts aren't holding pants up, that's for sure.

For OP- try using alch orb on a belt that drops. There is a command, if you pick up an item with the mouse then enter /itemlevel into chat you can see item's level. Find a high level belt and pray :)
Also, I find good belts quite frequently. Here are several of them I've found.
