Quest tracking.
I'd like to see a way of tracking quests during gameplay, instead of having to open the quest menu every time I want to check something. Thoughts?

I like the way - I've experienced it in other games - when you choose a quest you want to complete and it shows you either a mark/cross on the map or an arrow - pointing to the place as you might be in different location - where you should go to complete the quest - does it sound too casual? :D

I enjoy that feature too. Ease of use is one of the things that makes a game great!

I'm a little leery of having quest arrows in this game - it weakens the randomness of the maps when you can say "oh, I just have to keep going that way and I'll find the next area/exit/quest item", rather than "the next area/exit/quest item is somewhere around here".
It's not as if the quest-givers know exactly where they all are either. I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out. Heard its twisted dreamed inanity In a whisper, in a shout. In the babbling cacophony The refrains are all the same: "[permutations of humanity] are unworthy of the name!" |

" Well on the flip side, why is this quest interesting or exciting if it's easy? If there's no challenge, why would I feel rewarded for completing it? If something is so easy and obvious, it moves from being an interesting quest to just a chore I have to complete to get some reward. Why bother making me do this quest at all if there's no challenge and a blind chimp could accomplish the same task? Obviously the information has to be available somewhere: nobody wants to wander around lost and confused because the game didn't tell them enough. But I find it more enjoyable if I have to do a little work to process that information instead of having it fired directly into my consciousness via a minimap arrow. And there are plenty of situations where you don't even need much information, just a basic willingness to explore the gameworld. For example upon finding the All Flame in the Ship Graveyard: you pick it up, think "ooh interesting, let's look around to see if we can connect this to something", and sure enough after some exploration and fighting you find Fairgraves and the solution to your mystery. If there was a big honking quest arrow pointing you to Fairgraves right after you picked up the All Flame, wouldn't that just put you right to sleep?
