Crafting an Ele Bow

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a white 5linked thicket to try to roll a nice elemental damage bow to use on my duelist. Ideally I'd want the following mods on it:

Prefixes:
+Added Cold
+Added Fire
+Added Lightning
Suffixes:
Attack speed +%

Obviously I want medium-high rolls for all of these. I don't have a lot of currency to burn on the eternal/exalt method so I was considering just throwing a bunch of chaos at it until I get something I like. Should I go for it, or is the chance of getting three specific prefixes from chaosing too low?

Tri-ele bows are pretty cheap. Why not just buy one and link it if you're just going for 5L anyways?

I'm in hardcore, so the market is pretty small and it's hard to find good ele bows for sale. I was thinking it might be easier to just craft a linked one.

I saw that before, the ele dmg rolls are the most common, which is good, but the problem is that they're all prefixes. I'm worried that I will chaos something like 2 good ele rolls and 2 suffixes, then have to use exalts on it to try to roll the last elemental roll.

You can calculate the exact chance to get an ele bow you desire through chaos-rolling, assuming prefixes and suffixes are equally common and that the average amount of affixes is 5.


Edit: Heck assuming you get 3 prefixes, you'll need to chaos 480 times on average to get top3 tiers in all elemental flat dmg categories.

Yeah, I kind of need a top tier roll for all three types in order for it to be better than my current bow. Guess I'll just buy one and link it then, since the probability for rolling a good ele bow is so low.

I was doing an elemental split arrow just to test it out and all of the sudden the boss at shipyard dropped a 6L thicket bow. Dat luck!

However I started throwing chaos orbs at it and after about 40 chaos orbs I ended up with this


I realized that it probably would be a lot cheaper to buy 2 exalts worth of regrets and reroll my character than trying to further chaos it!
So with that experience I would recommend linking an already rolled bow!
