Duelist 1H Rapier, Sheild. (Cleave, Double Strike, lightning strike, Shield Charge) NO Blood Magic!

@crazycarl Theres Really not alot of crit damage around duelist. theyre more towards the ranger. if you were to grab crit damage and accuracy you would defiantly have to to go iron reflexes. its more on that side of the tree, i feel like it really depends on blood rage. if you want blood rage you need more life right, so youd have to goto the maurader, then you would have to grab resolute. cause there is only 3 crit nodes near the maurader that you would be able to grab.
blood rage = resolute technique + loads of regen.
Even then im not sure if my build is going to be effective later down the line. i might have to respec into accuracy.

Ah I see, that's kind of what I was getting at. Obviously your spec has a lot of damage, but without many accuracy nodes, I just wasn't sure how it would be later. I suppose with swords, your accuracy might be alright. Since crit isn't a big part of the duelist build as you stated, this was the precise reason that I was thinking about going into resolute technique. Don't lose much because crit isn't that important to duelists, and you get the benefit of not being evaded. I would think this might be a tempting way to go even if you don't get blood magic, but maybe I'm wrong.

Yes get resolute Technique without blood magic, get the regen and stuff from marauder, the armour too. and between duelist and that, there are plenty of one handed and sword damage.

easy so far im in act 3 norm i havnt died yet.i bought a 33-81 physical rapier @ act 3 could wear it at 28. just strollin through. accuracy is not a big deal atm. and sure go ahead use it! tell me your opinions and perspective on things. (:

Hi, I'm trying out this build and I'm a complete noob when it comes to PoE so I have to ask a couple of questions.

About skills, counting the ones you have mentioned you have a total of 10 skills with the auras, but isn't there just 7 skillslots? Do you have to toggle them or?

I'm only at act2 normal so far but I seem to only be using cleave and not lightning strike. Cleave because I got my hands on the life leech gem so thats whats keeping me alive. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, are you running with all of the auras from the start, isn't the mana reserved a problem?

This is pretty much my build on hc and it's a beauty.

Level 40 on 10fps and I've yet to die

It very close to the build I planned (more or less) for my HC Duelist .

Lv 40 too (!) so far. Surviviing those position desync and lags pretty well.

But in the end I planed to use Unwavering Stance + Iron reflexe + those armor/eva passives and I won't take the little offensive one like you did. But I will only take IR+US at the same time and I think around the level 50

I think we'll need the extra endurance charges ( + endurance cry ) since we have almost no elemental resists in the Duelist tree and the ele resist debuff from higher difficulties is freaking high.


I think the builds are pretty solid, do your best to not die guys o/





@soonie :

- you can toggle an aura and use the slot for another skill
- cleave is great but has a short range, LS allows you to hit from distance ( and even kite if you want ) I use LS + fork and it's pretty good. Not saying Cleave is a bad skill.
- asaik, you can really start auras when you got a lot of slots in your gear, also you must support them with a mana cutting gem, so no, it's more a endgame thing, or at least not early game for a 1st char. I only use Tempest Shield + Grace and it cost me half of my mana with +36% mana max, I really can't add something else D:

@ekainen yes i like yours too. :D didnt really play much yesterday but today im trying to get pretty far.

I keep hearing that evasion isn't that good later on, do you think I should switch all the hybrid arm/eva equips for straight up armor?

On a side note, I love your build so far. It's a good balance of offense and defense.
